Week 8-Art Activity-Student Choices, Part 1

- For this week I plan to recreate one of Helena Wierzbicki’s acrylic paintings.
- The reason I choose to recreate one of her paintings is that Wierzbicki is one of the artists I enjoy seeing. When I first saw her artwork on a Reddit post I was amazed at how many different colors she used in her artwork. It was the color that initially caught my eye. Although I’ve seen her work many times I’ve never recreated one of her pieces, so I wanted to try with the project.
- I’m not sure what resources I would need for the project.
- Some concerns I might have is the project being seen as plagiarism. For most of the things I’ve painted, it’s usually images off of the internet. I have trouble coming up with my own artwork, but when I have a reference it’s easier for me. However, I don’t want the project to be seen as plagiarism.
